Hera Couture X AP - An interview with rep Harriet
Hi Harriet! It is a pleasure to have you in store with us. Would you like to introduce yourself to our brides?
Hello! I am Harriet, I have been working with Hera Couture by Katie Yeung for four years as the brands exclusive representative for the UK and Ireland.
We are so proud to stock Hera Couture at AP! What would you say Hera Couture embodies as a bridal designer?
Empowering women! Katie is so passionate about women being unique. That blended with her passion for styling creates the brands manifesto; amazing quality, incredible structure, unique pieces and ensuring women feel like an elevated version of themselves on their wedding day.
Wow, how amazing - we totally agree! How would you describe the Hera Couture bride?
Definitely timeless, fashion forward and somebody who cares about quality and the investment of durable pieces.
So tell us about the design journey for each bride's gown?
Katie takes inspiration from everything; from outdoor flowers to things in museums that are so architectural. You can see this through our latest collection; Amplified Simplicity, the actual dresses and their cuts are really simple but the architecture of the fabrics is really unique and amazing.
The dresses are actually designed on women, so we can make sure that the structure is actually comfortable on a woman's body. Katie is so caring and passionate and that translates through the brand as a whole as our brides and their gowns are the heart of what we do!
It is so important that our brides feel both comfortable and looked after so we totally appreciate the care taken in building a Hera gown.
Can you talk us through how Hera accommodates brides to ensure every body shape feels amazing?
Our size range is so inclusive, we range from size 0-36. Hera believe that bridal fashion should be accessible to everybody. Time is really taken to study different body shapes and sizes to ensure the dresses are comfortable before anything is put into a collection. You can trust that Hera has the skillset to perform whatever the bride needs!
What does sustainability mean to Hera Couture?
We really care about being sustainable at Hera Couture, that is why we only use the highest quality fabrics. Our fabrics are durable with an aim that brides have the option to re-wear pieces or pass them onto loved ones. It is one of the biggest purchases of your life; it’s so important to know that your dress can stand the test of time.
We also ship products with an aim to reduce our carbon footprint, for example, nothing will ever be shipped singularly.
That’s amazing! So what advice would you give to a bride when finding their dream Hera Couture gown?
Come in with an open mind and trust your stylist expertise. AP knows everything you need to know about Hera from quality to construction. Also know that Hera can pretty much do anything; we really can build you the dress of your dreams.
And what is your favourite Hera gown?
At the moment, Vienna is the number one. I adore that dress and everything you can do with it. In all my years working in bridal I have never seen anything like it, there’s nothing to compare it to. The structure is incredible and the mix of the fabrics makes it so unique.
Would you like to share any memorable moments from working at Hera Couture?
The most memorable moments for me are when I get to work with brides in store. But also, when I get to work closely with our designer Katie soaking in all her knowledge; I just love working with a designer who is so caring. She really listens to what brides want and It’s a privilege to be able to pass this knowledge on to our stockists and stores.
